Hate on the internet seems to grow by the month … racism was normalized, and now it is swamping us and endangering innocent people… where will this end?

It is scary, in part because even when Trump is gone, the hate will remain. There is no end of “out-group” scapegoats for the unleashed racists (sexists, bigots, anti-semites, Islamaphobes, homophobes, etc.) to blame for their inadequacies and struggles — so, no “natural” ending I suppose. We have come to a point where some in our society now take, I fear, real joy in demeaning others.
No question that the latent tendencies toward the worst humans have to offer has been unleashed in a big way. Very hard to put the hate back in the human once they have enjoyed splashing it out over everyone else. It is sad that, even for the hate-filled, they are less happy and content when they give way to their hate, as opposed to curbing it and nurturing their better angels. It’s a long road back from this lazy and destructive indulgence, but it is possible…with the right leadership.
Here’s to hope.
